TV and star chef Nelson Müller usually prefers private work on the stove with carefully selected ingredients – but if necessary, it can be frozen pizza or ready-made soup. “I have cooked fresh and myself all my life, whether in restaurants or at home,” he told the “Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung” (Friday). “But it also means being lazy once in a while and opening the chicken soup. Or when I come home from a night out at a club feeling a bit shaky, I see nothing wrong with putting a ready-made pizza in the oven.” Regardless of that, Müller thinks it’s important to better inform young people on healthy eating A separate school subject might help.

Müller revealed that he couldn’t do without canned meals entirely. “It’s probably a childhood relic,” he explained. “When you came back from vacation, or for bad times, there always had to be something ready in the closet.” Fundamentally, however, awareness of the importance of balanced meals needs to be anchored more firmly in education: “Nutrition should be a much bigger topic in school, but also other practical topics such as money management, physical and mental health.”
Until now, these questions have been of secondary importance in general courses, he thinks. Professional practitioners have repeatedly called for such a topic or one for business and finance. Müller also justified his proposal by the fight against obesity or diseases such as diabetes, often associated with an unbalanced diet.
